David Edmundson Saxophone: Live Jazz Bands & Sax Lessons

Saxophonist and composer, David Edmundson has been involved in the music scene in Auckland, New Zealand since the early 1990’s.

 

Originally from Christchurch, where he studied jazz at the Christchurch Polytech, David moved to Auckland to begin teaching and playing in a variety of bands, including the Rodger Fox Big Band (lead alto).

 

He graduated from the University of Auckland.

 

Since that time David has been active in the local jazz scene as a player, leading his own groovin' jazz trio and quartet, and The Jazz Age (classic jazz ensemble). He performs with FBSQ (saxophone quartet) and is a member of AJO (Auckland Jazz Orchestra).

 

He is also a respected educator, currently teaching woodwind at Green Bay High School and Teacher in Charge of Jazz Studies at St Cuthbert’s College in Epsom.
